About Frank Williams
A native of rural eastern North Carolina, Frank grew up in the Northwest community near the Brunswick County town of Leland. After graduating from North Brunswick High School in 1988 he went on to attend North Carolina State University, where he earned a degree in Communication in 1993. He entered the public relations profession shortly after graduation, when he secured his first freelance consulting client.
When Frank formed Pioneer Strategies in August of 2001, he began with one small client. Since that time, the firm has built a diverse base of more than 60 clients throughout North Carolina. Pioneer's work has been recognized by both the MarCom Creative Awards and the Sir Walter Raleigh Awards for Excellence in Communication. In addition, Frank received the Triangle Business Journal's "40 Under 40" Leadership Award and was inducted into the "40 Under 40" Hall of Fame as a member of the Class of 2006. He also received the N.C. State University Communication Alumni Circle's Outstanding Alumni Achievement Award in 2006.
Frank has been a featured speaker for a variety of organizations. He has addressed gatherings of the North Brunswick Chamber of Commerce, the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce, the Morrisville Chamber of Commerce, the Wake Forest Chamber of Commerce, the Greater Raleigh Merchants Association, the N.C. State University chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) and a number of civic and political organizations.
Actively involved in politics and civic and business affairs, Frank served on the board of directors of the Business Leaders' Club, Inc. and served two terms as president of the Raleigh Public Relations Society. He has also worked with numerous state and local campaigns and was an alternate delegate to the 2000 Republican National Convention in Philadelphia. Frank served as 2005 Public Relations Chair of Strike for Survival, a bowling competition to benefit the American Cancer Society, and was a leading fundraiser for the event. Frank previously served as Publicity Director of the Raleigh Jaycees and Alumni Corporation president for the Delta Rho Chapter of Theta Chi Fraternity. He also managed statewide campaigns in 2004 and 2008.
